wide open

Every morning when I go in to use the bathroom, my boy cat, Vegas, runs and usually nearly trips me, as he attempts to get inside with me before I close the door. It’s absolutely predictable and so ludicrous, for as soon as he realizes he is trapped, he wants out.

How often are we like that? Something is opened and we run – with no thought to long-term goals, to potential consequences or loss – it just looks appealing so we grab at the opportunity.

What looks like good to us is often not the best option for us. The bible tells us that “all things are permissible, but not all things are beneficial.” Before you take a step today, take a moment.
