And on the seventh day God finished His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. – Genesis 2:2
but the seventh day is a sabbath unto Jehovah they God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy maid-servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates. – Exodus 20:10
Creating new rhythms for this year, I have decided to be super intentional in all areas pertaining to my physical, emotional, and most importantly, spiritual, health. I love that God is so faithful to outline what is best for His people in His scriptures, and that He is super clear on the value of rest.
Spiritually, we are called to “rest” in Him daily – by trusting, not worrying, speaking words of life and faith over our lives and situations. But we are also called to physically rest. We all know how much more clear our perspectives and emotions are when we are well rested and have made self-care a priority.
So, Saturdays are to be simple for myself as well. I will be posting worship songs, small tidbits, or even just sharing a word or a message, maybe a meme (??) so that we can connect, and, so that I can honor our day of rest.
Today, I just want to share one of my favorite worship songs, Reckless Love by Bethel. I hope it blesses you as much as it blesses me.
